PUWER and CE Marking Services

Whether you are a large organisation, or a smaller employer with one or two employees or even self-employed, if you own, use or control work equipment, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) place the legal responsibility on you to follow the regulations and to ensure that the equipment used at work is suitable and safe for its intended operation. And when you are providing new work equipment for use at work, you must ensure it conforms with the essential requirements of European Community law and is CE Marked and without obvious defects and comes with a Declaration of Conformity and instructions in English.

Our knowledge of the Safety, Engineering and Management fields and experience within broad range of industries, allows us to understand the technical requirements and give you practical solutions and not the difficult to understand reports and impossible to implement list of actions.

 PUWER Assessments

Work equipment should be assessed for compliance against the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).

For the assessment to be suitable, it should cover a number of factors including:
  • the equipment guarding,
  • performance levels of safety systems such as E-Stops,
  • maintenance of the equipment
  • suitable training provided for all who will be using / interacting with the equipment.
Our experience working within engineering and Health&Safety ensures that our PUWER assessment is suitable and meets the requirements of all of the PUWER regulations as well as the harmonised standards.

CE Marking (UKCA)

The vast majority of equipment manufactured within the EU should be CE marked by the manufacture or by the importer if it is made outside the EU and being brought in.

We can help you in meeting your requirements by European Community law and guide you through the process from:
  • identifying essential Health&Safety requirements
  • producing the Technical File
  • writing the Declaration of Conformity or Declaration of Incorporation
  • CE marking your equipment.
We have helped manufacturers with their bespoke builds and factories with assembly of production lines.

PUWER Assessor Training

To be able to conduct PUWER assessments on your work equipment you need to understand key aspects.

This 3-day course is designed for people with engineering experience and knowledge.

It will expand the delegates' understanding of the key requirements of PUWER and the sources of information that can be used and referenced when conducting PUWER assessments.

Over the 3 days the delegates will complete a PUWER assessment on an item of equipment in your workplace with it all coming together on day 3.

This way you get assessments completed and the delegates have actual experience of completing them on real life situations and we get to discuss how they can be corrected in practice.
